Te Karira, a bright and driven third-year Bachelor of Urban Planning student at the University of Auckland, embodies the spirit of innovation and the powerful blending of perspectives that Trimble values. Growing up in Whangarei, Te Karira was deeply influenced by his Nana's work in Māori planning, igniting a passion for integrating Te Ao Māori worldviews into planning and decision-making processes. His early recognition of the critical need to bridge Māori and European perspectives to achieve equitable outcomes in the public sector has fueled his academic pursuits. The moment an urban planner visited his high school, Te Karira saw a clear pathway to combine his interests in culture, law, geography, history, and people.
